Husband started hemodialysis thru a perma-catheter in his neck. Says he is feeling better

I tried peritoneal at first, but it just wasn't for me. I didn't care for all the supplies left every month at a small cramped apt. Also infection really made me sick. I'm currently on hemodialysis and that works for me best. I like going to the center and interacting with others that are going through the same. I learn from the nurses and medical staff on what not to do and do. I like knowing if anything goes wrong there are professionals there to help.

Hemo has been ok. It hasnt really made me weak or tired. I have lots more energy than before I began and my red blood count has increased. I do think it's the cause of me beginning to loose my hair.

My left arm did not work for hemo, so I have been doing peritoneal for over a year and having success. I have phone contact with a very good nurse who relays any information to my kidney specialist.
