gotta get clean to start recovery

I did a detox in a hospital about 4 years ago and it definitly helped me quite.

It worked, I think I learned alot but I was stupid and relapsed after I was clean for almost 6 months. I started calling people I used to kick it with.

Wish I had been in a detox - detoxed at home without help - don't do it.

worked for a few days, but haven't tried again.

I have needed to be detoxed under medical supervision - ie in a clinic or hospital

Detox is not a treatment. "Though we work out our solution on the spiritual as well as an altruistic plane, we favor hospitalization for the alcoholic who is very jittery or befogged." pg xxvi. If detox has done anything it was getting over physical withdrawal a little more comfortably so that I could work the program of AA. If detox is the only thing anyone has done and never picked up a drink or drug again....they are not a real alcoholic or drug addict.

Whoo, this last one like to have killed me because I did it on my own which I certainly don't recommend; however, I don't ever want to go through it again. Over my past twenty years I think I have been in ten rehabs.

I went into The Watershed in West Palm Beach, Fl in March 2007, I recomend this facillity.

detoxed alone, in my own apartment. didint go to a rehab centre, did it alone.
worked, id say, but its still tough every day.
