Desipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) that inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine. It is sold under the brand names Norpramin© and Pertofrane©. It is used to treat depression, but not considered a first line treatment since the introduction of SSRI antidepressants. more at Wikipedia

I take 100mg 30min before i goto sleep. It decreases the amount that i dream and makes me able to actually wake up after 9 to 10hours of sleep instead of the 12 to16hrs needed to kind of function before.. I can function on 6 or 8 hours if i NEED to which is drastically different than my usual state. I also wake up to external stimuli too like the phone ringing or a knock at the door. unlike before when i would sleep through earth quakes. Ive been on it a year and its a total life saver.
