I was only on depakote for about two weeks. it sure took away my anxiety cause one day i forgot it and i was sitting in kmart parking lot bawling my head off and not knowing why. when i thought about the depakote i took it and i felt so much better almost immediately. i weaned off it right after that cause i didnt want to go through hell if i forgot it again!

Although it makes me drowsy and I worry about gaining weight as I did on Zyprexa, it seems to be working well. I have only been taking it for about a month now; 750mg a day.

Like it but it is not the best medication for females. It messes with hormones and can cause PCOS. Stopped taking it. It also made my hair fall out.

Mood stabilizer 250-250 mg morning and night. Within two days of active suicidality took me out of a dissociative state and back to my right mind. My right mind is getting happier these days as well. Initially, it freaked me out a bit to be on a mood stabilizer because I THOUGHT it might be bad for me physically, but I'm on a relatively low dose and the shrink doesn't anticipate I'll be on it for a really long time (whatever that means).

I feel tweaked once it kicks in. Very short fuse, i cant stop talking, licking my lips....Causes insomnia, because it paradoxically overstimulates me. Everyone reacts differently. I am NOT bipolar either. I am a reasonably calm person, without this junk. Personally, my body is REJECTING this stuff. Every time i skip a dose, i feel so much relief. Im getting off.
