This therapy trained me to accept thoughts and feelings as reality. Before I reacted to the pain with shame. I accepted the demeaning idea that something was wrong with me. Realization that thoughts and feelings are normal and when overwhelming require care understanding and healing therapy is opposite to my upbringing among family and society who stigmatized people who suffered with mental emotional problems relegating them to the fringe of the social group or altogether abandonment. . .
