Have thought this to be a valid method of personal change for many years. I work at this and it helps a lot. I also use Bible scripture meditation 12 steps prayer journaling reading and support from others personal experiences. I am learning to make menus and be prepared with healthy abstinent food. Staying prepared being accountable and impulse control are challenges for me. Thanks for reading.

I guess it saved my life as I was going to kill myself and my depression/CBT group stopped and had me locked up. However, I am done with talk therapy at this time.

I was referred to a PHsycologist at age 17 for cognitive therapy and although I wasn't aware of it at that time I have come to realise that it is in there somewhere, It cant do any harm its only talking after all ? MMMmaybe ! it just for me I suppose it kind of makes me appreitiate the good things and hang on to them when I feel like letting go helps me prioritise what really matters and cut out things that I don't really have to do so you kind of dont set yourself up for the fall!

You can learn effective techniques that are less harmful than drugs. Especially breathing & relaxation exercises definitely works
