Working / Worked
I think it depends on the child & the situation. It works great for my 3.5 yr old, not so much for my nephew.

When I use time out...and that is SO infrequently....I just tell my granddaughter she has to sit down in a particular spot till she calms down. She's 3 (so they say one minute per year of age) that means no more than 3 minutes. We haven't used time out in so long though that the chair she sits in is covered with her toys and stuff. All I have to do lately is threaten time out...that's sufficient.
