I may have this strange breathing disorder where I am slowly hyperventilating. I can't remember what it's called, but my husband found some breathing exercises. I hold my breath for 7 seconds, and breathe it out for 11 seconds. I do this 4 times in a row, twice a day. It feels nice. I also have begun breathing during panic attacks - in through the nose, pause, out through the mouth pause. I do this during stressful situations, too, and it really helps center me.
