Ice is always helpful for me. Heat makes it worse causes area to swell and makes pain worse. Ice and spray cold products I find very useful for short term help

I hate aching pain and tolerate stabbing and other kinds of pain better than aching pain. The Biofreeze and menthol patchescremes help because the tingling takes my attention off of my aches and puts it on the feeling of the tingling in my skin. Its a good distraction.
