Interferon beta-1b (marketed as Betaseron) is a drug in the interferon family used to treat multiple sclerosis. It is administered by sub-cutaneous injection and has been shown to slow the advance of the affliction as well as reduce the frequency of attacks. Stared 09/25/08; have flu-like symptoms sometimes.

Started in June seems to be working as MRI is improved and no more exacerbations since June.

seems to work but doctor wants to change to copaxone. I get a rash at injections site.

do we really know if it works? I don't want to stop and find out.
stide effects were really bad at first no stop flu I lost 20lbs it all balanced out but I still olny take .75 of a dose and am scared to go to full dose I don't want to get sick again.

1 yr on ... have had several relapses ... but not since hitting the 6 months use of Betaseron
was on it for over 10 ears. It did not show any positive effects in thge long run and I went off it and it was replaced with Cytoxan.

no side effects for me. I haven't had any change in my MRI, so it's doing it's job well.
