the group I went to yrs ago was good but I see they no longer have a group there.
I have attended alanon for years. I just went back after about 4 years of not going. I find it very helpful. It reminds me to take care of me and that it is not my fault.
I have a wonderful group, and it has helped me immensely. It helps me find calm in the storm. It helps me stay reasonable. It helps me make sane decisions.

My Al-Anon support group numbers between 5 and 20 weekly. This fraternity of like souls is a godsend. More interaction with parents of alcoholic daughters and sons would be helpful, however, as we have challenges that are particular to flesh and blood.

Good stuff, most would benefit from it especially if you grew up in alcoholic household
I own a specialty store for women's accessories.
Stopped going and need to go back.

Alanon helps me with my co-dependency issues that deal with my sober alcoholic friends.
I have been going to Al-anon off and on for 8 yrs. I think it has helped alot with not panicing when my husband was using also helped me learn to live my life for me and not for the addict.
My second time around it was great - have not been back though for awhile.
