Slowly increasing doses to find where the medicine will work best. I am sensitive to the sulfer like compounds that are found in Vyvanse so my doctor opted for Adderall XR. I simply could not focus in class anymore and this is letting me return to my "A" class ability.

I like Adderall because I am a lot more mellow than when I was on Ritalin. I was only recently diagnosed with ADHD and have only tried the two. Only, the meds only work if you take them. Sometimes, I just don't want to keep putting stuff in my body. I get tired of taking pills, I lose track of my medication schedule. I just stop taking them all together and things in my life - the routines that worked,etc - slowly unravel. Then it is back to square one.

Adderall XR kept me awake during the day before I started having sympotoms of depression. I was very happy with how Adderall worked before I had symptoms of depression- though I ended up being allergic to it. I got horrible skin rashes first starting on my legs, then spreading to my arms, scalp, torso, chest, and back. I also had trouble breathing every once in awhile while taking Adderall. The only other side effect I had that were not from an allergic reaction, was a dramatic weight loss.

It helps me a great deal, but I still have problems. So far I have not had lots of side effects, The funny part is that even though speed is supposed to make you stay up for days, I get sleepy even when I am taking it and on weekends, when I don't take it, I tend to sleep a lot.

I take 20 mg. 1 hr. before going to work and 20mg. 1 hr. befre leaving. 10 mg. if I need it for an attack.

It works very well for the energy without making me do too much or being jittery
