The 5FU gave me severe mouth sores and my oncologist stopped it two weeks early. I had surgery in Oct. and found out my tumor only shrunk 1 centimeter. I was considered cancer free but my oncologist put me back on 5FU bolis once a week, but it made me too sick, so I stopped it.

I have used all topical creams----the best is 5-fluororacil because it is the strongest. My dr had me apply it 2 times a day for 4 weeks. Blistering doesn't start until 4th or 5th day, it is painful but tolerable. The worst part is the stinging and itching....but a small price to pay because it does remove a great majority of the lesions. After healing the remaing must be surgically removed. I have done this process 4 times with no lasting side effects.
Working / Worked
side effects, tired, weak, skin rash, but seems to be shrinking tumor.
