    • About Me

I am a mother of three, grammy of one and wife of hubby. I love the Lord and try to be still and listen to His voice. Sometimes this means drowning out all the noise. I was diagnosed with CFS in 2000 ... it's been an interesting journey.

I apologize as I haven't been to the ADHD article in some time and noted your question. Yes, there are some behavior techniques that can be helpful (and without the need of meds). But best to have him assessed and go from there.

  • Support Groups

    • Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I have a variety of symptoms but my biggest complaint is a total inability to sleep. Whatever hormonal "dance" is necessary is simply not happening. Also find it harder and harder to cope with "normal" stress. Couldn't hold down a normal job if my life depended on it. Felt so alone that I searched the internet for a CFS support group and found you! What a godsend!

      Treatments

      Bioidentical Hormones Working / Worked
Went through menopause "10 years too early" according to OB/GYN. I'm pretty much a naturalist so I didn't want to take synthetic HRT. The bio cream works great; helps me get to sleep and I feel lousy if I miss a dose.
      Klonopin Working / Worked
Take .5 mg nightly along with OTC sleep meds. Can't sleep without them.
      Yoga Somewhat Helpful
Trying to get back into my yoga routine. Overdid it for a while and got burned out.
    • Close Tinnitus

I've had this horrible high pitch ringing in my ears for several years. It's gotten worse lately, esp. when I expose myself to computers (yikes!) and high def TV.

      Treatments

      White Noise Somewhat Helpful
    • Open Menopause

First symptoms began at age 42; last cycle at 45. Don't know if CFS brought it on early or not but I feel like I'm prematurely aging very rapidly.

      Treatments

      Bioidentical Hormones Working / Worked
      Black Cohosh Working / Worked
      Estroven Working / Worked
    • Open Caregivers

I'm finding myself in a new season of life by taking more close care of my mother. I've recently moved her closer to me to do so. Daily challenges include both of our failing memories!

    • Open Codependency

I developed CFS literally from codependency. It's taken me a long time to realize this. God is teaching me so many things to get me out of this pit I've been in.

      Treatments

      CoDA Working / Worked
Any of the Anon groups are a great support. An addict is an addict and a codependent is a codependent regardless of the type of addiction.
      Music Working / Worked
      Pets Working / Worked
      Reading Working / Worked
You'll find "your story" in so many books like "Boundaries", "Love Must be Tough", and of course "Codependent No More".
      Talking Working / Worked
Surround yourself with true friends who truly love you and care about you ... and you do the same for them. These are the people you need to talk to, not the negative types who pull you down so that you stay in your pit.
      \"Codependent No More\" Working / Worked
The Codependent Bible ... a must read !! Authored by Melodie Beatty.
