About Me
I was diagnosed with FM 2003 ,but have been sick for a long time . In 1971 I had Rocky Mntn Spotted Fever , at the age of 4 ,I had Chicken Pox so bad that I had to be hospitalized. I have had pneumonia 3 times ,numerous surgeries. I am a retired nurse , mother of 2 grown sons and 1 grand daughter . I am a living history re-enactor , make brooms , quilts & love to garden.I have a deep commitment to God , am gregarious ,love helping others.

Hi Hun. I've been offline for a year. Didn't have internet. I'm back, but all my old group is gone! I miss everyone!! Need you back, girl.
I'm doing really well. Hope things are going good for you. Don't know anything about you lately, except what I'm reading here. Hoping that whatever it is that hubby is doing, is going really great for you. And you moved? From you beautiful cabin?? Ohh, I loved that house!!!!

Close Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed with Fm in 2003 and like most people have been sick for a long time. Had Chicken Pox ,age 4 and had to be hospitalized due to lesions present in lungs,1971 had Rocky Mntn Spotted Fever , pneumonia 3 times , have extensive OA , numeruos surgeries ,2 C-sectons ,laporoscopy revealed redundant loop in descending colon,Lt rotator cup repair , both knees scoped..Rt knee meniscus repair ,condyle shaved...need replacement for both . I am a retired nurse , no longer able to be on feet .
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- This med has worked well and no adverse effects...yet
- Guaifenesin Working / Worked
- I take it at bedtime ,have not had any problems nor seen any improvements
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Still on low dose , have seen improvement in muscular relief , no joint relief
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Working well ,take at bedtime and adverse reactons
- Ultram Working / Worked
- I take on an as needed basis and it helps
- Zanaflex Working / Worked
- I take it twice a day and continue to have a lot of stiffness
Close Chronic Pain
I have been sick most of my life , Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever 1971 ,has affected many joints and organs, diagnosed with Fibro & CFS and have had multiple joint surgeries.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Has helped with pain and depression...has caused me to gain 50 lbs and I plan to de-tox from this med soon
- Heat Working / Worked
- I have a heating mattress pad which is a life saver , use the smaller pads too
- Lidoderm Working / Worked
- If I use 3 at at time, these help
- Lyrica Not Working
- This med caused heart palpitations and migraines for me. NOt taking it anymore
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- This has helped with the tingling sensations, I can only take it at bedtime as it causes vertigo for me
Open Arthritis
My profile is on the Fibro board...but...I had Rocky Mntn Spotted Fever in 1971 , and began to have problems with my knees in 1982..due to the RMSF, I try to stay away from anti-inflamatories , Both knees have been scoped, now I need a knee replacement on the right. I also have OA in Rt ankle,Lt hip , Lt elbow and both shoulders. It is unclear if the joint degeneration is from RMSF or the many years I spent riding , trainig and showing horses.

- Naproxen Somewhat Helpful
- I take it sparingly
