About Me
I work full time for the Catholic Church, and take care of my 85-year-old mom (stroke) almost all the rest of the time. I have fibromyalgia, but I'm trying not to let it have me. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal breast cancer and DCIS in March 2007, had a lumpectomy and radiation for six weeks, and now I'm back to work and all is well. I have two really sweet kitties - Gracie and Bella.

In my "spare time, " I make beaded jewelry and sell Watkins and Fuller Brush. I also like to read and spend way too much time on the computer!

Prayer
I joined caregivers group and spotted your pink ribbon. My daughter just finished radiation treatments the 13th of this month. She will be going on tamoxifen also. I shall add you to my prayers. God Bless

Stage: I (T1 N0)Treatments
- Nolvadex Working / Worked
- I was very anxious about taking this, but I actually think I feel better after I started the Tamoxifen ... other than those hot flashes!
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- I had no real difficulties, just reddened/burned skin - no real peeling or blistering. I still don't like wearing bras, though!
- Surgery Working / Worked
- Lumpectomy in 4/07 with sentinel node biopsy, followed by a re-excision in 5/07 to get clean margins. Cancer is gone, and I feel good!
Close Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia/CFS 3 years ago at the age of 43. My older sister was diagnosed 5 years before me. I am still able to work full-time and be caregiver to my 85-year-old mother when I'm not at work.
Treatments
Open Caregivers
My dear mother had a stroke in 2003, which paralyzed her left side and diminished her swallowing ability, so she now has a PEG tube. A wonderful caregiver takes care of her while I work, but otherwise, I am there full-time to take care of my mom.
