Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I have been sick for almost two years. I have finally found a doctor who thinks he knows what i have. All tests have been normal, of course, but he thinks i have fibromyalgia and CFS. I feel that fatigue is my main symtom though I do have pain. The pain i have been able to live with, but not so much with the fatigue. I have recently started trying to do Dr. Teitelbaum's protocol for treating CFS. I have only been able to do some of the non-prescription stuff so far.
Treatments
- Provigil Not Working
- it was horrible. the doctor thought i had narcolapsy even though my sleep study was normal so he put me on a trial of this. it definitely kept me awake, but i was still extremely tired. the longer i took it, the worse i felt. i was bedridden within a week and a half of taking it. i was supposed to take it for a month, but i couldn't stand it for longer than 3 weeks.
Close Fibromyalgia
I was just diagnosised with this, though i have had it for a while. i was trying to avoid this diagnosis, but at least now i can be treated for it. : (
Treatments
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- this is seriously my miracle drug. I guess most of my pain was nerve pain or caused by nerve pain b/c lyrica gets rid of almost all of it. I definitely notice if i forget to take a dose. I don't have any side effects other than getting dizzy if i miss two doses in a row. I am at a very low dose still (100mg twice a day) hopefully, it will stay that way.
- Neurontin Not Working
- i had really bad side effects so i had to stop taking it after 4 days. unfortunately the side effects lasted longer than that. it made me have really bad eye pain, blurred vision, i couldn't read anything b/c i couldn't make my eyes focus and they were really sensitive to light. but that's not a common side effect, i hear.
Open Narcolepsy
when i was first diagnosised with this, i didnt' really think i had it, but after doing some research, i have to admit that i do.
Treatments
- Provigil Working / Worked
- I am now on only 50mg in the morning and another 50mg at noon if i need it. this is working much better for me than the 200mg i was put on almost a year ago when another doctor thought i had narcolepsy, even though my first sleep study was "normal"
