the healing basics that i used to BEAT crohn's with NO meds!!! 

 

1. Detox diet and body cleansing. Our bodies are FILLED with toxins. There in the food we eat, the air we breath, the water we drink and shower in. Before beginning any natural healing regiment detoxing is (in my opinion) the BEST thing to do. The toxins in your body weaken your immune system and its ability to heal itself. A great place to start is in the book store... I HIGHLY recomend reading the book called "The 7 day detox miracle". I did the seven day program and instantly felt better than I have in a long time! Detoxing flushes out your system, eliminates toxins from the body, and allows your body to begin healing itself. please get this book and follow the plan and i bet it will make a difference!!!

2. Now your all cleaned out, time to keep it that way. NO MORE JUNKFOOD! Please watch the documentary ‘supersize me!’... this should make it easier to never eat fast food again! Me and my wife have not ate at a McDonalds and will NEVER eat at one again after watching this video! Stay away from anything that God or nature didn’t create. Get back to the basics (very important in the beginning, now I can cheat every so often with no penalties!) I recommend plenty of distilled water, lots of fruits and veggies (organic of course) and brown rice. Although I have read that some people with crohn’s have trouble with citric fruits such as oranges and tomatoes, I have no problems with them. Also try to steer clear of red meat for awhile. Chicken seems go down a lot easier for me. I also take NO over the counter meds such as cough medicines or asprins or allergy meds.

basically anything processed or from a can is going to be loaded with perservatives and chemicals that people like us with crohn's cannot handle.. back to the basics!!! after the detox week i reccomend some steamed veggies and lots of brown rice.. steamed veggies are easier to digest than raw ones

3. EXERCISE!!! you don’t have to look like a bodybuilder or anything but you have to get the blood flowing!!! walking, jogging, swimming, biking, yoga, jump rope... anything you want but get on a plan and stick to it.. It is very important to your overall health! yoga seems to have the 'healthiest' overal effects for people.

4. Supplements. By far the best supplement that has helped me get over crohn’s has been ALOE VERA JUICE. I drank this stuff every day, 4 times a day at first and it had AMAZING effects on my stomach discomfort. Now I still keep a bottle in the fridge and take a gulp every other morning or so.

highly recommed Glutamine. glutamine is an amino acid that is very important to the funtion of the intestines' cells.... i also take omega-3 fish oil every day, a multi vitamin/mineral, and Emerald Greens, which is a blend of many beneficial plants and herbs that are loaded with antitoxins which boost the immune system. (really like the Emerald Greens first thing in the morning before I run with the dogs).

4. One of the final pieces in my puzzle of obtaining better health is chiropractic care. I went to my chiropractor, (check him out at http://dradt.com/), initially for back pain. I soon learned from him how important that proper spinal alignment was for overall health. In addition to my back feeling better, my asthma and allergies are about 80% better... with NO harmful side effects! Chiropractors enforce the concept that the body can heal itself better than any drug or dangerous surgery can. My advice is to fine a chiropractor that also has a background in proper diet and nutrient.

5. GET EDUCATED! Please, please read the books, "Natural cures THEY don’t want you to know about!" And "A promise made, a promise kept". These two books turned my view around about the "medical community". That will get you started but there are a ton more great books out there!!!

    Ok, I am so glad you posted on natural alternative group.

    I am slow to get this altogether, but I am getting there step by step, I mean the detox and getting the system back. I too have been off the meds for 4 months and I am looking at everything I can to get the me back I once knew. I have copy and paste the information from here to follow up on later. Rigth now, I am working my tail off, as I am way behind and have recently been delivered the news of a brin tumor. After coming to peace with this - thank you Jesus for listening . . I am ready to turn thing into high gear. I have hypothyroidsm and fibro also and I am convinced fibro is a crock, not cause, no cure - yeah right. I have already experienced a few weeks of the diet alteration and I can see that there is something to that. Please do keep intouch. It is good to see that you are still active on the board. Please excuse any typos, I try to correct them, but my darn brain is not too alert with this tumor hanging out.
    I will definitely look into some of the books you have recommended.
