I am here to tell ya'll, If you don't get your extra weight off before the "Honeymoon" is over, Be ready to work hard!!!! I am still losing, but it is SLOW going!
For all of you newbies who don't know what the "Honeymoon" is, It is the first 6 to 10 months post-op. This is when you will see the most weight loss. When this period is over, You will still lose weight, but it will slow way down, and you WILL have to work for it!
What makes this a LOT easier, is getting the "head start" that my surgery gave me! I was down to 166.5 this morning! I can wear size 11/12 cordouroys (without spandex! Lol!!!)
It is not only hard to lose now, but it is really easy to gain. PLEASE!!!! Be Warned!!!! I don't want anybody to panic, but I do want you to have a "Heads up!!!" Many people regain, after the first year. I'm pretty sure I understnd why!
I still only dump on high fats, and then when I do it is just an annoyance. it isn't anything to write home about...So I don't get any help there. I can eat sugar just fine, but I insist that I stick with sugar-free stuff, or "No sugar added". I also try to keep my sugar grams to 3 or less per serving. This doesn't always happen, but when I go over, I make a compensation for it elsewhere in my menu.
I am about 20 lbs from my goal of losing 150 lbs in the first year. At the rate I am losing, I doubt I'll get there in the month and a half I have left, but I don't care!!!! I know I am really close to my maintenance weight right now. I need to be below it so I know for sure, but I know I'm close. If I could get as low as 147 lbs, I am going to start "body building!" Lol! Then I am going to be a "Buff" and stuff! Lol!
Right Now however, I am going to stick with my Gym routine, and my Liquid diet with an evening meal to continue dropping til I get to the point I'm not comfortable anymore. Probly by my next writing, I'll be there. We'll see!
God Bless!

I know what you mean about the Honeymoon period. I am about 18 months out and although I am still losing, it is extremely slow and I have to work hard to lose every pound. I sitll have around 50 lbs to lose and I am hoping to get that done before I reach my 2-year anniversary in October. I doubt that will happen but it is a goal that I am attempting to achieve.
You look wonderful. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for the experienced advice. My surgery is in two days, June 16, and I hope to lose 120 pounds. I will heed your advice and try and make the most of my "Honeymoon" period. I know this will take time, but I'm in for the long haul.
I've appreciated reading other posts you have made; you are very informative and inspirational.
All the best as you continue closing in on your goal. Good Luck!
