About Me
i am an ex-nurse now working in a special needs school with children with autism and physical and intellectual difficulties. we use Auslan sign language and PECS as communication aids. i use my artistic skills to enrich the childrens lives in my care with sensory art programs and massage. i always strive to look at each persons abilities rather than focusing on their disability. the smiles i receive every day from the children are what keeps me going.

Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I caught a gastro bug from a student at school. i just had a cold, cough and nausea. i felt sick at school one day and i experienced a rapid heart beat. heart palpitations and i felt faint. about three weeks later i felt really ill and went to hospital. they gave me antibiotics and heartburn tablets.i went back to work for one day and then had the next three months off.i have been to hospital 3 times, twice by ambulance because of excutiating pain and all the symptoms of a heart attack.
Close Chronic Pain
i was diagnosed with cfs and am in constant pain. it sometimes mimics the symptoms of a heart attack and an ambulance has to be called.

i have 3 boys, a 23 year old and identical twins aged 17. i was diagnosed with cfs just over a year ago. i work in a special school with special needs children teaching sensory art.

my husband developed epilepsy at the age of 34, it took 2 years to get it diagnosed. he has lived with it for 15 years now. he is on clinical trials to try any new drugs that are developed. he suffers complex partial seizures, drop seizures, clusters and status epileptus. his epilepsy is uncontrolled.

when i first developed cfs i slept all the time, 12 hours sleep, up for 20 miutes, then back to sleep for another 12 hours. now i am lucky if i get 2 or 3 hours a night. sometimes i get none at all.
