      From AzSherryberry November 14

Good morning Sunshine. I wish you would hurry and get well. Who with Fibro needs a chest cold on top of the existing suffering? Not us, no way. The EMG is uncomfortable and more painful than I thought it would be but it does not last long. You can do it. I hope today is good or semi-good even. You take good care of you. I have missed you! God bless you always Jules. : )

  • Support Groups

    • Close Fibromyalgia

Finally "diagnosed" with Fibromyalgia 7 years ago. I've been through what seems like everything to no avail. Creates a lot of depression and lonliness. People just dont understand we may look o.k. but we're in agony!

      Treatments

      5-HTP Not Working
Don't know if I took it long enough. Nothing to report.
      Acupuncture Somewhat Helpful
It THINK it may have started to work? but after $1,000 I couldn't continue to go. Of course, it could have been coincidental that I just started having some "good" days towards the end of the 6 week treatments - insurance doesn't cover it
      Aqua Therapy Not Working
I have a wonderful whirlpool and it feels good when I'm in it but the pain is still there and remains the same as soon as I am out
      Carisoprodol Working / Worked
helps with muscle spasms and sleep - the more often you take the less it helps though so have to be careful
      Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
works on muscle spasms but if you need to stay awake forget it! soma is better for me
      Cymbalta Not Working
Been taking it for a year. 60 mg helped the depression somewhat but the side effects of increased sweating became too much to handle (waking up several times during the night soaking wet) back to 30 - not sure if it's doing anything. Tried to go off it for a week and had weird effects with my eyes so went back on it after 11 days since they weren't going away. I'm on the smallest dose, still depressed and in pain
      Duragesic Patch Considering
Doctor hadn't suggested and when I mentioned it he didn't want to perscribe
      Effexor Not Working
Tried in the past, don't remember very much but think it made me sick - I know I couldn't stay on it
      Elavil Not Working
one of the first meds the dr's tried - too long ago to remember but musn't of worked or I would have kept it! I believe I had bad side effects
      Guaifenesin Considering
never took long term - only for congestion..humm, may have to try - is that supposed to help?
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
Helps while I'm on the heat but very short term - mostly with tight muscles - doesn't help deep pain
      Lyrica Working / Worked
allergic to, swelling of my hands and feet :(
      Morphine Considering
hope dr. or pain clinic will perscribe this to me at some point
      Neurontin Considering
will try when pain clinic suggests - it's in a long list of treatments - I am afraid of side effects though, I am allergic to a lot - we will see
      TENS Considering
Don't use it too often because it's so difficult to attach to my back where the pain is all over. Not sure if it helps
      Ultram Not Working
Uugh, I thought maybe this would be my helpmate - I was getting bad side effects. Fuzzy feeling, mentally - couldn't drive, scary dizzy spells, bad constipation, felt more depressed
      Valium Working / Worked
do not combine with soma.. helps when pain breakthrough makes me unable to deal with anyone any noise or anything.. decreases irritability, helps sleep
      Zanaflex Working / Worked
Allergic I guess - made my heart race, almost passed out - went back to Soma which helps with muscle spasms

      Didn't work for me
      Meditation Too Soon to Tell

if I can keep focused, it helps
      Prozac Not Working
made me much, much worse - practically suicidal - could not take it!
      Psychotherapy Not Working
Never found anyone who I could connect with and look up to.. I have found I am my own best therapist
Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
My 17 yr old daughter is the best, most understanding, intelligent person and more insightful than anyone else I know! Sometimes it bothers me though that my poor daughter has to be the one to help me out of depression. She shouldn't have that burden
      Wellbutrin Not Working
Bad eye side effects- had to discontinue
      Writing Somewhat Helpful
Helps to share and to write - helps me become more motivated but the pain still keeps me down even though I have so much I want to do!
      Zoloft Working / Worked
It did work but I stopped to try Cymbalta which was supposed to help with pain AND depression since I also have Fibromyalgia - have never been able totake enough Cymbalta to work now can't get off it to go back on Zoloft which worked best for my depression
