I had my surgery in Dec 06. I understand about family and friends thinking you look normal. I have so much pain it is hard to be motivated even to take a shower.. That means I have to hold my arm up to dry my hair.. I have no desire to even go out. I also feel guilty because I cant play with my 9 year old as much!

Close Chronic Pain
I have been diagnosed with Thorasic Outlet Syndrom, a rare condition that causes pain, muscle loss, ect. I had thorsic spinal surgery which cured the previous symptoms and gave me new ones. I have little use of my L hand and chronic pain. The surgery was 6 months ago and I have 6 months to go to see if the nerve will regenerate.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- Used during stimulation therapy. Does relax the muscle.
Close Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
I am a post-surgical TOS who thought her world would become an easier place. Well I traveled to Ohio from Illinois to a surgeon who is a specialist in this condition. It is very difficult to find a person knowledable which is the most frustrating part. I had muscle loss in the hand and shoulder area,would of continued had I not had surgery. All the pain prior was resolved and now I have new pain and loss of fine motor skills. I have 6 months to go they say for nerve recovery; if it recovers
Treatments
- Physical Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- Electrical Stimulation and Laser Therapy 3x week since March, have 6 months to confirm treatment
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- Sadly did not work; had to be put under for this too!
Open Parenting Toddlers (1-3)
I am a mom of twin 3 year olds and another 2 year old boy (great planning right??). Pushing the limits of insanity on a daily basis. MOst of my friends have either 1 child or 2 a couple years apart. They do not quite understand the diffculty of 3 boys the same age. I am quickly learning that is my problem to deal with.
