Well, I got back last Monday. I havent written til now because Ive been a lil busy & not to mention tired. Lol. Well, everything was Fabulous! The house, the sights....the peace & quiet. I kicked back & relaxed....played games with the family, walked in the pouring rain through the marsh with my mom, went bike riding with my brother (bad idea later...extreme knee pain lol), boogie boarding (sweet waves!) which at one point I got pushed all the way up to the beach & was like WOOHOO! Then when I tried to get up 3 more came crashing on top of me.....so when I finally did get my footing my boardshorts had fallen off & my left boob had popped out. Good thing Im not too modest hahaha because everyone on the beach gota peek. That night my aunt spent time brushing rocks outa my hair Lol.....problems with long hair, crashing waves & sand haha. We didnt have much luck crabbing....the tide was all screwed up & not sticking to schedule, the locals said it was awful strange this year. There were, however, little spider crabs everywhere. My cousins & I made it a point to catch them & constantly throw them at our mothers hahaha! I never knew my mom could scream so loudly heeheehee! We didnt go out to eat really....with nine of us it was just better to buy groceries. My uncle made gumbo one night, he's an excellent Cajun cook.....we were in Heaven! I footed the liquor bill the whole time. My family are not big drinkers, but they cut loose on vacation....mostly beer. No one got "drunk" but me though.....& it was all by myself......& they let me! I had bought a gallon of wine....just to sip for the evening, mostly for my aunts. Well I ended up sipping 3/4 of the jug before anyone knew it. When stuff tastes good it sometimes gets away from you, ya know? Anyway that was the ONLY time that happened. Apparently I was talking on the phone & to everyone else at the same time that night & dont remember any of it. Well, I only cooked with the wine the rest of vacation Lol.
One day my cousins & bro & sis-n-law wanted to ride bikes around the golf course. There were only 2 adult bikes. I got stuck with a pink & white little girls bike....I was pretty cute on it if I do say so myself hahaha! All the people standing outside their houses were staring at me like "is that an adult or an oversized kid?" I just smiled & waved.
We went to some old cemetaries one day.....FABULOUS! They were absolutely gorgeous! I got tons of pictures, which I will post a few later. At one of them I ventured off alone into the woods where it was over ran with lizards & frogs. Could I help myself? Of course not.....haha. I had to catch a lizard, then run to my mom & sis-n-law & scream "LOOK AT THIS AWESOME SNAKE!" (I held it where you could only see the head & tail) They screamed like girls! AHAHAHAHAHA!!!
The ride home was something else. My bro, sis-n-law & 2 cousins were in a car, & my mom, 2 aunts, me & my uncle were in the other car(my car). My uncle drove. He was ready to get home & see his grand babies. He didnt let us stop for lunch & barely let us stop to pee! I tried to sleep most of the drive because he rides the median at 95 miles an hour! No joke! At one point I awoke to the car swerving & all the women in it screaming bloody murder! Hahahaha! Needless to say we stopped for a bathroom break soon after Lol. It was an experience needless to say. And even though I have not enjoyed moving back to the country, I was glad to see the mountain by the time I got out of the car :)
Well, thats a summary of my time on Edisto Island. Theres alot more, but if I wrote too much you'd probly get tired of reading haha.
