I have two boys ages 19 and 16. The oldest is in the Navy and youngest living at home. Married 20 years and currently separated. I work outside the home in insurance. My youngest son keeps me hopping with sports and we work out at the gym. I have various interests and tallents, but not much time on my hands these days.

Close Breakups & Divorce
Married my husband shortly after high school...was expecting first son. He left..drained accounts...cancelled our lease w/o my knowledge..refused to tell me his whereabouts...no child support. It was bad. 2 yrs later we worked things out. He's not overly affectionate, very controling, and demanding. But, there were good times and by then we had a 2nd son. A yr ago, very similar behavior. He doesn't want to wrk things out or a divorce. I'm in limbo, but at least he's out of house.
Treatments
- Music Somewhat Helpful
- Listen to music I didn't listen to before so no memories. Find it distracting and that's a good thing.
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- Most helpful from those going thru what I am. Friends in good marriages can't really understand.
- Support Groups Too Soon to Tell
- Didn't really give it a fair try. Found the women overly bitter. I'm too old to be bitter. I just want to quit hurting.
- Self-help Working / Worked
- My husband was a control freak..I couldn't do things right. I'm showing myself and my boys, it's not rocket science to change the oil in the car, for ex.
- Reading Working / Worked
- I can't afford the time or money for counseling although I could use it. I do read free stuff from creditable people.
