You are lucky to have more children. My daughter was my only child. I have no family now. She was all I had. I'm still a mess most days.

You are appreciated and SO loved!

I don't know if you look at youtube much... but I wanted to encourage you to listen to Josh Groban sing that song I mentioned in my last journal... Somewhere... He is so awesome. I was telling my husband I find it interesting how he's sung with so many different singers... Used to be a lot of singers didn't do duets... like they were afraid of not being the STAR.... Josh just sings with everyone and its always awesome. Hope today is a blessed day for you. Hugs Elissa

Close Bereavement
Type: Loss of a ChildMy son was killed in an automobile accident on May 30 2007 less than 5 miles from home. Police say he fell asleep but we think something distracted him.
Treatments
- Crying Too Soon to Tell
- I have had a few days where I tear up but don't totally break down. Would like more of those.
- Grief Counseling Somewhat Helpful
- My husband and I see a counselor but I don't even think a trained professional can totally help if they haven't experienced loss of a child.
- Keeping Busy Somewhat Helpful
- First couple of weeks back to work were awkward. Now keeping busy helps bury the hurt. Once I'm off work I go back to the world without my son. A dark place it can be.
- Pets Somewhat Helpful
- Love my animals the same. They are no substitute.
- Prayer Somewhat Helpful
- I pray more than I ever have in my entire life. I want to stay strong and faithful but definitely a test of faith when something like this happens.
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- Most times I'm grateful for the almost 19 years I had with my son. I need to concentrate on the family that remains and need me.
