I work at a college and lovemy job. I have been here for 18 years. I am married, but, my husband is living in an assisted living facility for Huntington's Disease patients. I am trying my best to raise 2 young girls, ages 7 and 11, and it's killing me! I live for them and will do all that I can for them. It is very difficult in today's society, and, especially so trying to do it solo.

Close Parenting 'Tweens (9-12)
I am a single mother (married but my husband has Huntington's Disease and lives in an assisted living facility) trying to raise 2 very headstrong young girls, ages 7 and 11. The 7 yr old has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, and the 11 year old totally disrespects me as a parent and person, and wants to run the show. I work full time, and, by the Grace of God, like what I do. I am a hard worker and will do just about anything for these girls. And, I really can't stand the oldest right now.
Close Parenting Big Kids (5-8)
I am a single mother of 2 young, headstrong girls, ages 7 and 11. My 7 yr old also was recently diagnosed with ADHD. My 11 year old is difficult and very disrespectful. I have had her in counseling but haven't really seen any changes in her behavior. Their dad, and my husband, has Huntington's Disease & now lives in an assisted living facility. Our situation is extreme & difficult, to say the least.
Open ADHD / ADD
I have a 7 yr old recently diagnosed with ADHD. SHe barely made it into 2nd grade...her focus in school is not good. She also adds a spin to the family situation (myself and another daughter age 11). Both girls are very strong willed. Help!
Treatments
- Concerta Not Working
- Biofeedback Working / Worked
- If I had the time to keep trying for the "right" cocktail, I think it could have worked. School is starting and I need something that works more quickly.
