Well as some of you remember I tried to get into a rhumatologist before my insurance ended and we got stuck in the snow and then when we got started the doctor refused to wait around for us because we would be late. Well I called the next morning and the were able to get me in the afternoon. So I went and he didn't confirm or deny anything except that I do have fibro and he is willing to treat it and that I have osteoarthritis. Then he decided to take a bunch of blood and see me again in a couple of weeks well with no insurance I thought no way. His office staff said they take payments even if it is only $10 a month yaaaahoo at least I can get the treatment that I need. thats the good part I will find out if I have Rhumatoid arthritis and or lupus in a couple of weeks. Heres the crappy part. I seen him on thursday and he gave me a B-12 shot and told me to stay on my regular drugs. Loricet, skelaxin, cymbalta and I told him I was weaning off the lyrica he was ok with this. But today I went in to give my reg. dr and his wife their massages and I got part way through his wife and the pain was so bad that I got cold and clammy and dizzy and almost went down for the count. Well his wife got up helped me to a chair got me cool washcloth and called doc. doc came to my office and checked me out and changed my pain/muscle relaxer. instead of taking loricet and skelaxin. he switched me to a muscle relaxant called synalgos which also has codien in it and I can take my loricet with it if I need to but it helps me cut down on the pain meds and I don't need the skelaxin. So far so good usually dose is 2 every 4 hours but he told me to take 1 every 4 hours. My doc is the bomb he told me to call him at home if I need anything else. Oh yeah and he put me on some steroids to bring down the swelling in my back since this is where my pain is giving me the most trouble and my legs keep going numb.
but I am at least doing better after 3 doses of the good stuff. And I am not loopy which is very important. Well just give all my wonderful ds family an update thanks for listening.
Tam

Oh, thank goodness, things did go your way, afterall, that's a good thing. Even though you had to encounter another "bad thing' to change meds and feel that bad so suddenly, pretty scary stuff, huh?
