Journal Entry for May 26, 2008
I just reread my profile this morning and realized I'm in a different place. Prednisone has made all the difference. Others will think I'm …
I've been through a long process seeking help from the medical profession. I've spent thousands of dollars and "they" have found nothing wrong. In about a months time I went down hill so fast with leg cramps, muscle pain, joint pain. One morning I couldn't walk anymore. It seemed like ALS or MS. I turned to alternative health methods to keep me moving. In July 2007 on a lark, I saw a fellow with a computer scanner that NASA uses in space on the astronaunts. He told me I had Lyme disease. I mentioned that to my chiropractor and he said they could do a "live blood test" to confirm if it was Lyme. I saw the cysts for myself in the white blood cells and borrelia floating around in the space between the white and red cells.

Reading, quilting, a little gardening...I wish I had lots of time and money to spend on this hobby. I work as a counselor and am working on another graduate degree. I love learning, but writing papers and taking tests, not so much! The more I learn, the more I realize there is to learn.

Doesn't it seem so ridiculous that doctors don't know much about Lyme? I'm sorry you had such a hard time, I do too. My brother just got out of the hospital after 2 weeks with a fever of 103, cat scans, spinal, tons of testing, just to finally listen to him and start him on doxicycline for Lyme. They said they had to prove to themselves it really was Lyme, he gets very sick every year and has to repeat this same step over and over.
Hi, I'm back on. Sending a hug your way
Thought it would be nice to wake up to a hug this AM. We all need a little love, lol. I hope and pray you are doing ok, and KNOW that 2009 will be better! Many hugs.
Thanks Cheppie, I try so hard to not let this disease get to me....ever once in a while it just does! Need to keep my eyes on the positives. I pray you are doing better, and having a great start to 2009. Who knows, perhaps this will be the year that Lyme will actually get the medical recognition it needs!
I admire your tenacity Cheppie. You're willingness to explore new treatments is what it takes for that proverbial break through we're all so desperate to find.
Just recently diagnosed with Lyme with a live blood test by my chiropractor. Have had major walking problems for 2 years, feet & leg joints and muscles hurt most of the time. Use homeopathics and herbs for treatment.
I'm joining this community for information. Have taken Synthroid and the generics for years.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2000. I stopped drinking pop and that one thing brought my A1c pretty much to the 5's. Now I've decided to quit drinking diet pop. For the last 2 years I've had severe problems with my leg muscles, joints and feet. I thought it was a reaction to Byetta.
