I have been in contact with my stepsom Shane whom we lost contact with 16 years ago when his mother moved out of state with him. He didn't know his dad but wants to get to know us which I think is really cool. He seems so much like his dad it is a bit eerie. We talk on the phone almost everyday now and he has started calling me mom. I feel bad for him becasue he really wanted to get to know his dad and now he can't. I'm hoping to shed some light on who his dad was and help him get sense of his own identity. For me this is sometimes draining. He has some problems, one of which being his use of alcohol as an escape from life. All I can do at this point though is just pray for him and be here. I'm hoping a little good influence and a whole lot of God will help him through these difficult years as he progresses from a kid (18--teenager) into a young adult. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

My prayers are with you and with him. Your husband would be so happy to see that he is reaching out to you, the best person to tell him about the love of his Dad.

Sometimes GOd brings people come into your life because you are going to be used. The spirit will work through you. It is great he is trying to find out who is dad, and it will help you. Know I am praying for you.
