Good Monday morning my friends!! Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July! The weather in Jersey was finally sunny and bright...still is today!
We had a really nice time yesterday at our lil BBQ here. We cooked up burgers and weiners and steak fries and chicken.....and we had stawberry shortcake! YUM! I haven't had that for years. It was fresh from a bakery with whipped cream icing between the layers and on top...it was very light....just delicious. And of course we had chocolate laying all over the place! Krystin brought some SOFT chocolate chip cookies!! Ohhhhhhhhh mannnnnnnnn! So good! I had to walk away from them....they're dangerous.
At two o'clock we called my dad in Pennsy. We sent him a cell phone pic while we were talking so he could see us out in the yard being silly! He loved it. It made him very happy! It was a good day for all of us!
Last night, for some reason....I have no idea......my bladder pain started up again, in spite of the meds. This didn't happen till ten o'clock so it didn't mess up my day....but I got up and ate something so I could take another pill. These suckers make you wildly nauseous, you have to eat first. Me eating at 10PM is unheard of, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
Long, tiring story short, I did not sleep. I called my primary care this morning and will be seeing him at noon for a referral to a Urologist. That's what they told me to do at the ER. I was just hoping the Pyridium would solve the problem. NOPE!....sigh.....
I can see where I might be in for a bunch of uncomfortable procedures here...but I won't wait a month for a Urologist appointment and I will make that real clear to my primary today!
Tomorrow I'm supposed to see the gastro guy. I've been chasing him down since February!
I'm literally dizzy from all the doctor hopping.
And while I'm on this little rant.....(ya'll can just ignore me...I'm enjoying my tea and babble right now)....The government wants us to not use the ER as a primary doctor office. OH! OK! That would mean that our primary doctors should have appointments available within a month or so right?? Especially when we're in pain and scared, and infected!!! Exactly why do they think we go to an ER?? Cuz we're bored? It's the only thing to do when you call your doctor and they tell you there's NO WAY you can be seen till 8 days from now. You could call some other doctor out of your insurance network with that extra $250.00 you carry around in your wallet.....OR you go to the ER. We all hate the place....I know that, but sometimes there is NO OTHER PLACE TO TURN! Pain is pain, emergencies are emergencies and Big brother doesn't have CFS and all it's little sideshows to deal with on a daily basis. So if I wanna go get myself some immediate help.....the Emergency Room is my only option. They have closed down three hospitals in our area here.....it's really frightening what's happening to our healthcare system in this economy. 
Ok, nuff of that.....if it weren't for being so sick, I'd be feeling great today!! I plan to pretend that I'm feeling great today! I will start by um....taking a shower! Yes....that's where I'm goin!
Who stayed up all night and invented this whole CFS thing, really......ugh.....and on we go!!

Sorry to hear you're still dealing with this, Darla. But so glad the BBQ was enjoyable. I agree wholeheartedly about the frustrating doc stuff ... and immediate care centers are a joke around here. The docs are flunkies who couldn't make it in private practice. No thanks, I'd rather go to the ER to docs who have been trained to respond to immediate pain! Hope you're able to get in somewhere soon. A shower sounds good ... I think I'll go there myself :) Love you!

Well, you know my feelings about ER rooms :) but they are a necessary evil. Hope the dr.'s visits go well and you finally get some answers. Back to bed for me. HUGS

Oh suck-a-duck Dars!! Stooooooooooopid, stoooopid bladder.....you're gonna have to call the guiness world or records soon huh? So sorry the pain came back but I hope your doc will fix you up and it will go away???? NO MORE NASTY PILLS!! Sheesh, you've been thru enough now!
GOOD ONE about the government not wanting you to use the ER for primary care.....go fly a kite government....I love what you said about them not having CFS and all of the other sideshows....SO TRUE! Scary economy stuff right now, i'm wiht you!
So happy you had a nice BBQ and called your DAD!! Sounds like a lot of fun...and really yummy too! So glad you had some happiness yesterday!

Sorry for all this u are dealing with. I so loathe the doc hopping. It confuses me these days. I think after bill my mind just said enuff....
I was so hoping the meds would work for you. I hope u get some releif like NOW!!!!.
U know its awesome to hear u were able to get out and enjoy the 4th a bit. Out is good, but hate to hear u were hit so hard that night.I will be thinking of you . Praying it will go by fast and u will have an answer soon.
I am with u on the last bit.I cant say what I would like to about all that. Its ridiculous to think we just choose to go to ER for the hey of it. I would prefer my doc be available when I need him too.

I soooo hear you. I can't tell you how many times I've called the doctor's when SiCK and they can't get me in for three/four days. HUH??????

We are so fortunate here in Australia...we can see any Doc and it won,t ost way out of pocket...except if you have hour long consultations....this sounds dreadful..I hate ER,s too..but they are a necesity...doesn,t make sense that primary health care is whacked on the head financially..wheres the priorities..we are talking about peoples lives..
Anyways I will pray for help there for all countries we have similar issues here with hospitals too..

Well I'm so glad you got to enjoy your family day and this pain didn't hit til later. Sorry to hear that it hit at all! Yes, our health care system is getting much worse...all over North America. We've lost two hospitals close by as well, and I worry about the elderly and how far they must travel in an emergency. It's just wrong! I'm gonna be elderly one day too!
It just took me four days to even get through to my doctors office to make an appointment. Luckily I was able to get an appointment tomorrow. Nothing is wrong, but I need a medical form filled out for work. I was about to drive 40 kms. to the office, just to make an appointment. How nuts is that???
I hope this bladder pain goes away. You have enough to deal with as it is and you seriously need a break from all this pain. Does your doctor prescribe chocolate? Maybe that's the cure. he he

pyridium makes me super sick to my stomach. It helps one thing and causes another. I am starting to think there is more to this bladder thing that an infection. Perhaps IC...not sure. OR, an allergy. What did you eat on the day of your barbeque that maybe you would not have??? Well, that is a dead ringer for IC or even just an allergy. It is all intertwined. Cut out sugar or anything high in acid D. I have so much info I could give you. Let me know, or us know how it goes. Love you!!!!

Goodness gracious! you are having a spell of medical issues between the two of you. Praying it all will clear up soon and everyone will be on the mend. I hear you with the ER problems. It's a month or more to get into our office so patients have to go to ER.
