Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IIIA (Any N2)When I stopped nursing my 3rd baby, I found a lump and assumed it was duct related. My gp agreed because of it's sausage-like shape. We monitored it, but after an ultrasound some weeks later, we knew it was not a fluid filled cyst, and the rash of tests began. This was June of '05. That September I had a mastectomy after learning my diagnosis of metaplastic breast cancer. Today is October 19, '06, and so far so good-no sign of anything coming back.
Treatments
- Adriamycin Working / Worked
- I tolerated the ac fine; I took everything they told me to. Drugs before, drugs during, and after. Just very tired.
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- Lumpecytomy revealed 5cm tumor, metaplastic breast cancer. Mastectomy showed 2+ nodes.
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- 35 rounds of rads to 4 areas. Again, fatigue, and some harsh burns after the "boosters". Difficult to move arm at that point.
- Taxol Working / Worked
- I had no achiness with taxol; fatigue...
