I was listening to the radio this morning, and they were talking about a recent survey where folks of all ages were saying how stressed out they were about this economy. Interestingly, it wasn't just white-collar office workers - it was retirees, high school students and even kids - basically everyone is really, really freaked out.
This is a scary time, and if you're like me, you internalize it. I flip-flop between thinking it'll all be OK and then wondering if the lights will go on when I hit the switch. I can't help but have visions of a post-apocolyptic America when no one has cash and we all fight like dogs. But then I see cars on the road, and restaurants open for business, and I'm back again. Argh.
I think we all long for answers. The worst part is the unknown - what will happen to my job? What will happen to my savings? It's hard....really hard.
I hope all of my friends are doing ok, as this stuff can hurt bad.

The thing I do about situations like this, is remind myself that losing sleep over things I cannot control is like that part of the brain in a racist person that appreciates culture, it's absolutely, useless. God Bless bro

So true. I do notice many of my patients feeling thankful for the basics though...health....

Thanks for your comments. I agree it is a scarey time in all of our lives.
But when I think of my parents and grandparents and how they struggled in the last depression I do feel that we will handle things that might come our way. With Gods help and our determination we will do what is necessary to come through this time in our lives. pat

I also think it's scary. The best advice is to not worry about it for now. Just focus on all of the good stuff while you have it.
