Talked w/GYN and RE office today Mood
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 | A Breaking News story

An update to yesterday's post regarding the results from my f/u u/s for ovarian cysts........

Last night I had emailed the REs office with the results mentioning I was on cd34 and still no AF and my concern over starting clomid since I already had cysts.

RE's nurse called me back today and went over the situation with me and said the Dr wants me to come in tomorrow morning for bloodwork to see if they can determine whether or not I ovulated and if not see what they can due to help me along.

GYN also called back and walked me through the results (I love her, she is SO patient and takes as much time as needed to explain things).  She said not to be concerned at all about the two functional cysts (one on each ovary) and that the complex or possible hemmoraghic cyst on my right ovary is a bit larger but they can't be sure if it's the same one that grew a bit or if it's a different one.  They also don't necessarily know if it's a cyst or it's possible it's endometriosis.    If I weren't seeing the RE, the normal course of action according to the GYN would be another f/u u/s in Nov and if the complex/hemmoraghic cyst appears to have grown, they'd most likely want to consider lap surgery to confirm/remove cyst and/or endo; however, since I'm seeing the RE and he was already concerned about endo and we're skipping over the HSG (due to my allergies) next step (assuming I pass the clomid challenge and have decent ovarian reserve) is lap anyway.

So, long story short, nothing to be too concerned about and apparently only time and more testing through the RE will tell.

Trying hard to be patient. I've never been good with that.

Thank you so very much to all of you who responded to my posts, sent me hugs and messages and allowed me to just get my hysterics out.

I adore all of you.

Hugs.

Good luck with your visit in the am. Good thing is that the RE typically calls you that day with some info. so shouldn't be to much longer until you know if you ovulated or not. Let me know what they say about the lap - I hd that done and am happy to share any info. with you. (Dumb question but how did you e-mail Dr. C?) I am thinking it might be time for me to head back and would love to e-mail Dr F with questions)

I'm sure it's frustrating to have to continue to wait, but hopefully the bloodwork will at least show something! Your gyn sounds great! I'm glad it's nothing to be overly concerned about, but still, I understand the frustration, especially with having to be patient! Good luck, & keep us posted!

I played the waiting game last year with my cysts, it sucks!! I completely understand your frustration. Hopefully they'll take care of things soon. Good luck:)

Ok... I'm a little confused about something. Maybe I'm just being a bit airheaded. What does allergies have to do with getting an HSG? AND BTW, I share w/you the impatience thing! Just remember.... NEVER PRAY FOR PATIENCE! LOL... you DEFINATELY don't want them tested.

The waiting is a pain, isn't it? Good luck with everything!

Waiting can be difficult but try your best to enjoy the days before you have that beautiful baby. A good friend once told me to leave a knife on the counter, run to walmart at midnight, stay up late and sleep in late and enjoy all the silly little things that cant be done when your baby arrives. Its no easy task, but it makes you stronger :) Cant wait to see how things play out for you. Keep us posted! ~April

Waiting has got to be the hardest part. Have faith that it will work out for the best. I'm thinking of you...
