I am 29 years old living with lupus. I was diagnosed when I was 11 years old. I get amazing support and strength from my family, friends and my boyfriend. I work full-time working with autistic children. I love helping and working with children. I have an older brother who is two years older than me.

Close Lupus
I was diagnosed with lupus (SLE) when I was 11 years old. I had two flares since than. I am currently taking many types of medications for my illness. My doctors label me as having what is called a grubbling lupus.
Treatments
- Azathioprine Working / Worked
- I am currently taking this drug and has been for many years. As with other medications, this too works well in combination with prednisone and plaquenil.
- Cyclosporine Working / Worked
- I am currently taking this drug for kidney treatment.
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- Plaquenil works in combination with prednisone. People taking plaquenil needs to see a eye specialist to monitor the effects of this drug to your eyes.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Prednisone is an effective medication. However, it has many side effects including weight gain and puffy/round face.
