"Your time is used two ways; in search of love or in expression of it. When you let go of needing love, you'll find it already within you."

It amazes me how we take pain for granted and forget the gift that it brings. It is a signal that something needs your attention.  All too often we medicate it and try to wish it to go away and the real issue goes unaddressed.

On facebook yesterday one of my friends had a really profound status comment and one of their  friends commented how important it was to see all the pain as a gift. Both comments hit home with me. There is stuff going on in our lives for which we lack discernment and have no answers. We should not ignore it, over medicate it or run from it. It is showing up for a reason. The answers lie in studying the pain (physical or emotional). It is a sensor requesting the attention it needs.

Then another facebook friend turns out to have studied under a teacher who's book I am reading. After all the years of knowing to detach from the outcome she reflected a fresh perspective. She said she was challenged to stop seeking rewards for her goals. Whoa. Perhaps she is right. Sometimes it is not the outcome so much as the reward we think we are going to get. Yeah that makes clear sense. Perhaps a better approach is living as if there are no rewards ( no desired outcomes either)....and being happy anyway.

Courage is reclaiming your life after a devastating event robs you of your confidence and self-esteem. It is facing tomorrow with a firm resolve to reach deep within yourself to find another strength, another talent... It is taking yourself to another level of your own existence where you are once again whole, productive, special..   ~Catherine Britton

"You can never get to peace and inner security without first acknowledging all of the good things in your life. If you're forever wanting and longing for more without first appreciating things the way they are, you'll stay in discord."   ~Doc Childre and Howard Martin

We aren't bodies at all; who we are is the love inside us, and it is that love alone that determines our value. When our minds are filled with light, there is no room for darkness."~ Marianne Williamson
