Close Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
I have hereditary OCD. My mother's sister has it, her aunt has it, and my grandmother had it. Within the past couple of years, I have developed hypochondria, which I assume is from the OCD. Last year, as a result of severe anxiety and depression, I developed symptoms similar to that of muscular dystrophy, and had to have tests done to convince myself I wasn't dieing. I've thought I had brain tumors, cancer, all sorts of issues. Very few people have ever understood me.
Treatments
- Lexapro Somewhat Helpful
- The lexapro did help with my anxiety, but it led to physical side affects that caused me to discontinue use.
- Luvox Not Working
- I was prescribed luvox by my former psychiatrist, but didn't really see any results. In fact, my parents and I are suspicious that it made things worse.
Close Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
I've suffered from IBS my whole life. It's gotten slightly better as I've gotten older, but as a child, it was a major problem. I used to regularly miss weeks of school because of cramping and frequent needs to go to the bathroom. I used to also fear long drives, plane rides, and going out to dinner.
Treatments
- Colace Somewhat Helpful
- Using Docusate helps make my stools easier to pass, but cannot be used solo.
- High Fiber Diet Working / Worked
- 1 cup of 51% honeycluster Fiber One cereal every other day, keeps my stools moving.
- Probiotics Working / Worked
- Eating 1 cup of Activia every day helps keep me regular.
Open Panic Attacks
I have suffered from panic attacks my whole life. I inherited it from my mother. In conjuction with my OCD, and anxiety, I have the tendancy to rush into immediate panic over just about anything. I got them more frequently as a child, but I still get them occasionally.
Open Alzheimer's Disease
Stage: AdvancedMy grandmother suffered from altzheimer's for a good 7-8 years. She passed away in 2001 at the age of 85 from leukemia. I know the pain and horror of watching a loved one suffer from this crippling, terrible disease.
Open Dementia
My grandfather suffered from dimentia for quite a number of years. It is a terrible illness.
Open Heart Attack
My father had a heart attack in 2004. He had quintuple bypass surgery, and has been fine ever since. I had never been so scared in my life than when he had his surgery.
Open Amputees
My father became an amputee in February of 2007. It was a struggle in the beginning, but it's gotten a lot better.

- Lactaid Working / Worked
- I use lactaid milk and pills, works beautifully.
Open War & Terrorism
My father lost his job in November of 2001 because of 9/11. I didn't lose any loved ones, but the emotional effects have lingered.

While I haven't served, I am very supportive of everyone that has served, and is currently serving.
Open Other Eye Problems
Type: Far-sightednessI've been experiencing increased blurred vision and loss of focus. Maybe a result of astigmatism, not sure though.
Open Hemorrhoids
I have internal hemorrhoids which cause bleeding from time to time.
