Well we decided to leave because they said this was a history making tide surge with this storm and we live in league city. We went to my BIL's house. Whom Im not real fond of. Especially his wife, she's a bitch. Although letting us stay at their house was nice of them I know It wasn't her idea. We lost power about midnight and I could feel the wind buckle the walls. It was scary. John's mom and dad lost power too and refused to come stay there with us. Long story short, Christy (my SIL) after getting power back refused to let Johns parents use the portable AC and generator. Johns mom is ill. She needed the AC unit. Then she proceeded to call them stupid for not coming to her house after she said "NO WAY I HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE HERE!" My tongue was bleeding by then. I had to walk away at that time. You guys know how hard it is for us to keep our thoughts to ourselves. Well finally our lights came on and were at home.

Girlfriend, I feel your pain. I had the same situation w/ my step dad you had w/ your SIL. Asshole city! Glad you and family are safe & back home.

What an ordeal you went through. So sorry about that. Glad your power came on finally and you're at home. I know what you mean about the wind and buckling the walls. I felt that with Alicia in 1983. It's really weird and freightening.
