Kaitlyn was diagnosed with epilepsy at 17 months (she had seizures since she was 11 months) She used to only have them when she was sick. In June this she was taken off Epilim as she hadnt had a seizure for 2 years. Then 1 week later she got the flu and started fitting again. Then she got over the flu and kept fitting every single day (until 4 weeks ago) They have tried her on different meds she rejected the Epilim when they started her on it again. She is now on Topamax, Clonazipan and still a little Epilm. We are hoping she can be weaned of the Epilim and clonaz but she has developed these absence seizures now so I not sure what thay will do...She has Tonic clonic's, Myoclonic's and absence seizures. It is all very stressful, and I not handling it all real well, but i have to keep my chin up for her hey!!

Hi friend! Long time no talk. How's things in your part of the world? We are doing pretty good. Max has been keeping me on my toes. I'm physically and mentally drained. But when am I not.LOL Max is getting a vacation granted by the Make A Wish foundation at the end of this month. We are going to the mountians to play in the snow. My 4 year daughter Kaitlyn has had epilepsy since 11 months old, she started with Febrile Convulsions and went really well on medication for 2 years then they took her of it and ever since (5 weeks ago) we have had a lot of trouble bringing it back under control.
Treatments
- Depakote Working / Worked
- She was on this for 2 years. She was seizure free then they took her of it, and thats when the seizures came back and we cant get them under control (at the moment)
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- This was working (I think???maybe just lucky not to have a seizure for a week??)but now it is back to the way it was
- Lamictal Not Working
- We have just started her on 1 week ago, she is still having seizures. I keep getting told it takes time???
- Topamax Working / Worked
- I think this may be the secret key!!
Close Anxiety
I have had depression and anxiety since i was 12 years old. Im now 32. I go good for a while then have bad times that do last for months. I have tried meds, and counciling and currently going to a anxiety centre but I cant bring myself to go back. I cant stand being like this. I need to know if there are others out there like me. I wish so much I could get over this as I want my kids to grow up happy and feel safe not thinking Im a moody bitch of a mum

- This did work then i took a generic brand and that sent me troppo!
