WELL, I SAW THE NEUROLOGIST TODAY, AND HE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE IMPRESSED WITH THE MS DIAGNOSIS AND IS SENDING ME ONE FOR MORE TESTS, ONE IS THE V.E.P. WHICH=VISUAL EVOKED POTENTAILS, TONS OF BLOOD TESTS, CKECKING FOR LUPUS, PARKINSONS, ALS AND OTHER AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES.
HE DOES BELIEVE IT IS AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE, BUT IT REALLY MAKES ME WISH I LIVE OUTSIDE OF ALASKA AND COULD GO TO A KNOWLEDGABLE NEUROLOGIST. OH, MAYBE HIS IS. I JUST FEEL DOWN BECAUSE I WANT TO GET ON SOME TREATMENT!
GOOD NEWS! I QUALIFY FOR ANCHORAGE PROJECT ACCESS WHERE PHYSICIANS DONATE THEIR TIME ( AND NEURO, THO WE DON'T HAVE MS SPECIALISTS, MINE IS THE CLOSEST), AND IT COVERS PHARMACY COSTS WITH A CO-PAY OF $5.00. SO WHAT A BREAK! I FOUND OUT ABOUT IT TOTALLY BY ACCIDENT AT MY GENERAL PRACTIONERS OFFICE.
SO THERE IS MY SILVER-LINING, AND THINGS WILL BE REVEALED IN TIME!

Yes, that is a silver lining. I do hope that he is right and that it is not MS. and what great news that you can get visits for $5 co pay. That will certainly be a relief to the finances. In fact I don't know may palces where you can get a really decent cup of coffee for that LOL

Kanga, it doesnt matter where you live I've been to 2 Neurologist and they say Ms maybe? They keep faxing my records to a MS specialist who wont see me because of insurance? Red tape! Hey I'm looking into changing the criterea for dx. Let me know if you are interested?

Having confidence in your doctor is so important but maybe you should see about this one. More test could be a good thing. Want to make sure you start on the right drugs. Let us know how things progress......Take care, Nancy p.s. has it snowed?

Nice to hear about your good news. What an up and down roller coaster! Is it MS? Yes, no, maybe. It is so frustrating that medicine is not an exact science. I guess medicine is more an art and that is why doctors "practice" medicine. I sure hope you get some definite answers soon.

Sorry to hear about your troubles hun, but it sounds like they are looking after you and really trying to get to the bottom of things. I know this part sucks, but hopefully you will have a rock solid diagnosis soon. Your pic is lovely. You want to make sure you are taking drugs for the right thing afterall hun!!
