hello, i'm 25 and have been a bi-lateral below knee amputee for just over a year. also lost my right thumb and the tip of my pinky finger. all of thhis was due to septic shock. nobody knows what caused it. my kidneys also shut down. i was given a 1% chance to live and i made it! i am already walking unassisted again, my prosthetist said i'm over a year ahead of where i should be!

well, i will be having surgery the 10th to have the pd catheter put in!!!

well, i meet with the surgeon thursday to schedule the surgery to put in the catheter to start peritonean dialysis! yay!! no more going to hemo …

i'm 25, and i've been on dialysis for a little over a year. in may of 2006, i developed septic shock very rapidly. it shut my kidneys, liver, and pancreas down, and caused a stroke, and some amputations. my kidneys never recovered. i am currently awaiting a transplant.
Close Amputees
i'm 25 and i've been a bilateral below knee amputee along with my right thumb and pinky tip for a year now, due to sepsis. i've been walking since september. just started walking unassisted a few days ago, and am a year ahead of where i should be.
Treatments
- Skin Graft Working / Worked
- they had to do a skin graft on my hand, due to so much of the skin and tissue dying. took forever to heal, but its fine now.
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- i have lots of nerve damage, and this is the only thing that helps me!
- Lexapro Working / Worked
Open Stroke
had a stroke 2 years ago due to septic shock
