I love doing crafts, esp. working with my hands. During nice weather I like to spend alot of time at my picnic grove in the wooded area of my property where it is peaceful & I can meditate. Life is difficult but I am hanging in there with every day being a learning experience.

Rhondak, your story has inspired me. I just got so depressed today. I am newly diagnosed with carcinoid, being tested to smithereens, no treatment yet. Tomorrow I see the oncologist for the first shot of somavastatin or whatever the drug is to alleviate symptoms. I'm sending this hug for you and wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day. You are a trouper and your courage and inspiration will help me pull through this.
Hi, Rhonda! I was lucky enough to have just one carcinoid tumor removed, about 6 years ago -- it had blocked the neck of my appendix, giving me appendicitis! Otherwise, my wierd symptoms would doubtless be continuing. Sounds like your health problems are much more than mine -- I'll say a little prayer for you.
Diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome 1985, had hypopituitarism, bilateral adrenalectomy 1985-86, led to MANY other difficulties. Developed AVN of my joints leading to bilateral total hip replacements 1990-91, rght shoulder replacement 1994. May 2006 diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor at dueodendium with a 3rd adrenal gland growing inside it giving me cushings for the 2nd time. Surgery was rough but got through & was doing well but now still have very high levels of ACTH & a nelson's tumor somewhere in my body, developed symptoms of cushings again for the 3rd time. Doctors are all at a loss. Please if you know a Dr and/or researcher willing to take on this physicians anomaly PLEASE contact me.
I had surgery for the removal of a carcinoid tumor in May of 2006. Diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome in 1985 and having my pituitary and adrenal glands removed I was one of the rare people to get this yet too. I have to be followed with MRI's to try to find these sneaky little buggers. I guess it is never over with carcinoid cancer. It is just a matter of living day to day. Please see Cushing Syndrome community for more of my information.
