Ugh! Mood
Saturday, October 3, 2009

I think my daughter gave me something that I don't really need. She came over the other day for some TLC because she had a bad cold and a sore throat. I think she may have given them to me.

I don't feel too bad...just very tired, and my ribs aches, and I have a very sore throat. MY PF's are also way down so I'm spending more time on the old nebulizer. Oh well, I had a good long run without being bothered by all this. I don't have a fever so I guess I'll just ride it out. My lungs still seem clear so that's good.

I was watching the Ken Burns series on the National Parks on PBS. That inspired me to check the National Park Serice web site and found out that if you are disabled, you can get a lifetime pass for free. The pass gets you into many of the parks for free and you get reduced rates on a lot of the services.

All you have to have is doctor's statement or some documentation from Social Security, or the VA.

So my son and I went down to the Gateway Arch, and sure enough, I got the pass for free. Since we were there, I decided to ride the tram to the top of the Arch. ($3 less per ticket when you use the pass) It was a terrific view. My ride to the top was long overdue since I have lived in St.Louis all my life and had not gotten around to it. Hey,it's only been there for a bit over 40 years. I was just waiting for the crowd to dwindle.  At any rate, that's now done.

Now I just have to ride out this bug.  I don't feel real bad...just blahh.

Hope you all are feeling well,

Tom

Oh Tom! At least you know where the germs came from. I had a good go of it too for a few months, but also have gotten reacquainted with my neb. Grrr!!! Prednisone really helps though so my PFs are in the mid 60% range so I'm lots happier.

You are brave to go up on the arch! You will never find me in that line!!!

I hope you feel better and your lungs don't get too worked up. Keep in touch! How great to have access to the parks for a lifetime! What a nice thing....now you have to travel all over....never go to any one park twice.....got lots of ground to cover after all!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement on my journal, by the way. Appreciate your words...always.
