I am a retired shift supervisor of a large metro corrections institution. I am 61 and recently diagnosed with asthma. I also have high BP which is well controlled by medication and diabetes which is controlled by diet alone. I have been married for 32 years and have 3 adult children. I have since been told that I'm a carrier for Alpha1 and that I have hydrocephalus.

Thanks! I received my test results yesterday. Negative!! I'm not getting over excited since MRSA has a tendency to show a negative test result and then come back in a month or two. Hopefully it will stay negative. Infections are never fun :(

Thank you for the wonderful words this past week. You really help me through a rough time.
May God bless you and keep you in perfect peace. Here are some encouraging healing bible verses to uplift you. Remember, faith moves mountains and you can get through anything in the name of Jesus.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Exodus 23:25
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Psalms 6:2
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
Psalm 103:3-4
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Matthew 4:23
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Jeremiah 17:14
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Matthew 8:14-17
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them. When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Thanks Tom, I did break down and went to the ER today. I did spend the majority of my day there, but eventually I'll feel better I'm sure. Glad you have a free week. Enjoy it, but be easy. Robin
I am 61 and asthma has forced me to retire earlier than I would like.. Still struggling with control. I also have high BP,which is well controlled by meds, and diabetes that I control by diet alone. I have been married for 33 years and have 3 adult children.
I was diagnosed with diabetes after an A1c test result of 9.2 . I was referred to a nutritionist and was able to change my diet and drop some weight. So far I control my diabetes by diet alone and testing twice a day. However I also have asthma and when I have to take prednisone my sugar really jumps up.
Diagnosed with high blood pressure for about 7 years. Probably undiagnosed for some time prior to this because PCP said I had a mild kidney impairment due to it.
I was diagnosed with high cholesterol a while back. Was placed on zocor.
I was told on 7/9/2007 that I am a carrier. I'm joining in hopes of finding out more. I had never heard of it before now.
I was just informed that I have very mild gout in the joint of my left foot. I am on no treatment since the area is just sore and not very painful.
Due to balance issues and hand tremors, I was referred to a neurologist. She had an MRI and a cisternogram done and diagnosed me with NPH. I see the neurosurgeon on the 15th.
significant sleep apnea
Don't know if I have essential tremors or not. But my hands do shake and my neuro has me on primidone and lorazepam
