I inherited agoraphobia with panic attacks from my mother and aspergers from my father, both conditions can cause anxiety and sometimes panic attacks, in other words the symptom overlap makes it difficult to know the cause of some problems have now largely recovered from anxiety and panic attacks using meds and cognative behavioural treatment

- Ativan Working / Worked
- helpful within limits
- Inderal Working / Worked
- helps with physical but not mental anxiety
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- helps a lot but has limitatins
- Paxil Not Working
- a prozac type med helped a lot, paxil has a reputation of being unusually difficult to quit for some
- Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
- positive thinking by itself isnt enough, IMO
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- a waste of much money and time, leads to an emotional dependance on the therapist but no cure
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
- many self help books and courses use variations of this method with much success
