I suffer from Bipolar disorder. I have a child with major depression who start receiving medication. She is in the psych unit right now and will be out soon. I just got married and completed my nursing assistant course. Passions include reading and writing.

Thank you so much for all of your help... it's been a while since I have been on... having some issues adjusting to his new routine. His counselors have been making school & home visits to observe behaviors here & there to see if it's truly bi-polar. The school wanted to say ADHD, but he has the rollercoaster thing going on like most bi-polar kids... so we will see. We are doing a blind trial with Adderall for two weeks & placebos to rule out ADHD... his doctor says that if we still have the highs & lows she wants to try the trileptil, so we will see... we go back the 14th of next month to find out which bottle was the real thing & which was the placebo. We are doing two weeks of each to determine... yay! Thanks!

I have no idea what I should put him on. They have said perhaps trileptil, but the more I read on it the more I would not like to experiment with it. Any suggestions?

Close Depression in Children
My 11 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with major depression. I still think she is bipolar like me. She just started on 25mg daily zoloft. Not sure if it'll work. Told doctor it can make her manic but he still insists she isn't bipolar. She is in the psych unit for second time now. A few days ago I found a suicide note in her room. That's when I took her in to the ER.
Treatments
- Effexor Somewhat Helpful
- Worked fine but only with a mood stabalizer.
