Close Breakups & Divorce
On 4/15/07, I discovered that the man I had been with for 22 years, and married to for 18 of those years, had been having an affair with some loser woman for the past year-and-a-half. I practically all alone in this world - he was my everything - and I am a complete & total wreck in desperate need of support (face-to-face or phone, if possible, as I am really too depressed to sit at a computer & read & write much).
Treatments
- BuSpar Not Working
- This BuSpar stuff, for me, was a bunch of crap! I went back to my Xanax. It keeps me somewhat stable, numb, and gets me to sleep, so I can't worry about the adverse effects right now - I need the stuff to get me through!
- Pets Working / Worked
- My two Yorkies are a Godsend - the unconditional love & companionship they provide me with is what keeps me going. Without them, I'd be up shit's creek without a paddle.
- Prozac Somewhat Helpful
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I am seeing a social worker twice per week, and am on antidepressants & antianxiety meds from a pyschiatrist.
- Reading Working / Worked
- "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. This book has totally transformed me into a much more positive person. AMAZING!
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- My friends try, but they don't, and can't possibly understand or relate. Family is basically non-existent.
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- Xanax Working / Worked
- Thank goodness for this stuff! I hate that I have to take it, but it's the only thing that holds me together at the seams.

Had gastric bypass 0n 9/6/02. Lost 186 pounds, but am now struggling and up about 30 pounds from my low point (I did not make it to a "normal" weight, but lost almost half of my starting weight).

My small dogs are my children, my lifelines. The two I lost 7-8 years ago broke my heart, and I cannot even imagine losing the two Yorkies I have now. They are what get me through the day on a LOT of days, and I love them more than life!
Open Lymphedema
Not sure if I have lymphedema - all I know is that I had surgery on June 8th and have been swelling up in my lower extremities and abdomen ever since - have gained over 20 pounds and am now gaining like 2 pounds per day and am just beside myself with misery & fear!
Open Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
NOt sure what is going on with me. Had major surgery - doppler found a blood clot in my left leg - could not be put on blood thinners due to the surgery so they installed a filter. I am somewhat young - 40 - and having the filter in for life scares me, but I had no choice. Now a followup doppler revealed no clots, but I have swelled up rapidly and gained like 30 pounds, so I have no idea if this is due to DVT, Lypmhedema, or what the heck is going on with me! I am very VERY miserable!
