Diagnosed with Leukemia in 1983. Received blood and platelet transfusions while being treated for Leukemia. Contracted Hepatitis C from the transfusions. 6 months After 48 weeks of horrible treatment for the Hepatitis I relapsed and the disease came back. Wound up with RA at the end of Hep C treatment. (actually tested positive for RA factor 5 years earlier but had no symptoms) Mom had RA that put her in a wheelchair.
Contracted Hep C from on of many blood and platlet transfusions that I receieved between 1983 and 1985 while being treated for Leukemia. geno 1a, Stage 3, Grade 3 liver (necrosis/bridging fibrosis). Finished 48 weeks of tx on 4/13/07, cleared at week 12, relapsed at 6 mos. post. Started 2nd round of tx on 12/11/07 for 72 weeks (pegasys and co-pegasys). Not a candidate for Infergen due to Rheumatoid Arthritis contracted from round 1.
