    • About Me

48 y/o female, married, 3 children, several grands. Haven't worked since 1994. Have multiple physical ailments, mostly related to FMS, but also have degenerative disc disease and a fierce irritable bowel, but mine is the opposite of the constipation. I attend church, sing, love to float in my pool and read. Philosophy: If I live long enough, maybe there will be a cure or a real treatment for this. I spend much of my time searching for new breakthroughs. Need pals that can share info.

You aren't on my friends list, although I'm glad you are doing ok with your new regime, you are gonna have to jog my memory a bit, sorry my memory is not what it used to be. Hugs, Owlxx

    • Close Fibromyalgia

Many years of pain and struggling to overcome, going to doctors, trying different meds and therapies.

      Treatments

      Adderall Somewhat Helpful
Actually use Provigil and it helps me be more alert, not for pain
      Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
Reduces depression, but doesn't totally get rid of it.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
Gained too much wait using this so I stopped it a long time ago. Lost 30 lbs.
      Ambien Somewhat Helpful
I still wake up, so I am going to begin using the generic form which is not time released, but if I am waking up anyway, it is worth the try and a lot cheaper.
    • Close Families & Friends Of Addicts

I was married to an alcoholic who did drugs also. 6 mo.'s into the marriage, he became abusive me, physically and mentally. After baby #1, he got worse. I had to fight back. As I was preparing to leave, I found out baby #2 was on the way and in the early 80's, I felt I did not have anywhere to go. My mom even asked me what I did to make him so mad. She had never had to deal with such abuse Many years after leaving and remarrying, he interferes with my adult daughters. I'm PO'd.

      Treatments

      Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
It was good to relate my feeling to someone who didn't judge me, but now, years later. The problem is affecting my adult daughters. Problem=x-husband.
      Talking Somewhat Helpful
I've talked to others with the same problem. It is sometimes helpful, but other times, it just gets me angry.
      Writing Not Working
My writing tends to become a rambling mess when it comes to this subject.
