    • Close Chronic Pain

      diabetes related nerve damage

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Not Working
currently maxed on dosage only dampening pain for a few morning hours
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
about an hour to two at a time, but then right back to pain
Spinal Cord Stimulator Working / Worked
With pain meds I can function much closer to normal with this implant though still not enough foot coverage. Some days I can skip a dose or two of hydrocodone! The sensation can get to you if you keep it on for a long period of time at least for me. BUT glad to have it in my fight against the constant pain absolutley.
    • Close Diabetes Type 1

Diagnosed in Sept 1999 as Type 2 but now Doctors say I am type 1. Have run the gauntlet with medicines but the pump helps best. I Also have periphreal nueropathy in hands, feet, legs. Have had spinal cord sttim implanted and that helps the legs great but not so much on the feet.

      Treatments

      Insulin Pump Working / Worked
When pain and stress and illness undercontrol this is the key for me. Basal rate at 2units per hour and alternate with 1.8 units per hour at night.
      Lantus Working / Worked
Used only on sick days or days when blood glucose is extreme to supplement pump basal rate--have to be careful though.
