*age 42* MS 8 yrs r/rm * Christian * Married * 2 wonderful boys * work p/time From New Zealand....GO THE ALL BLACKS!!! Diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis 8 yrs ago. Became a Christian 9 yrs ago. If you'd told me I would become a Christian, say, 10 yrs ago I wouldn't have believed you....but God moves in mysterious ways, and really pulled me out of a deep place I found myself in. Haven't looked back since then. Divorced '96 and husband moved to Australia. Have two teenage boys (the eldest went to live with his dad 2 yrs after diagnosis as I was in such bad health)and not coping. He's doing well and in contact a lot (but speaks like an Australian!) - comes for Christmases. My other son is in his first year in High School...and rugby mad. Recently remarried... to a wonderful South African Christian man (accountant) who I met at church. I work (part-time)in office with Intellectually Handicapped people - my profession was P.A. before MS. I love all things creative - jewellery-making is my passion and is a great hobbie for someone like me who suffers terribly from fatigue. Looking for contact with MS folk - MS seems a lonely place to be.

Interests
jewellery making, biographies, music, animals, my family, my boys are fantastic!, art, feeding the ducks when that's all the energy I can manage - love nature (good therapy too), love farms (grew up on a dairy/sheep farm. Moved to city when 10). I love all things creative - jewellery making is my passion and is a great hobbie for someone like me who suffers terribly from fatigue. Have done mosaics, calligraphy, art.

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSDiagnosed MS 8 yrs ago. Cognitive problems/fatigue pretty bad/weakness and uncoordinated. Relapsing Remitting. 42 yrs old - became Christian a yr before diagnosis which helps enormously.
Treatments
- Avonex Not Working
- I had a bad reaction to this so had to stop
- Vitamin B12 Working / Worked
- I seem to need these - they help my energy levels and gait
- Fish Oil Working / Worked
- Salmon Oil is an anti-inflammatory
- Provigil Not Working
- (Provigil) Worked for first day or two but then had a severe reaction....migraine, depression, chest pains, visual problems, sore back, even worse fatigue than usual
- Prozac Working / Worked
- helps with my cognitive problems, which were really bad
Close Celiac Disease
diagnosed few yrs ago - helped with pain in my legs when I went g.f.
